Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a notable appearance Friday at "Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs. The World," becoming the first statesman to witness one of the variants of the competition.
The leader arrived in the middle of the show to the cheers of the participants, who were visibly surprised to see him stop at their workshop.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you on such an important day, but since we have the best queens from around the world here, we thought you deserved a proper welcome," anchor Brooke Lynn Hytes said before her appearance.
Trudeau said he is thrilled to be the first executive to make his debut on the show and hopes he won't be the last.
"It is high time to go beyond tolerance and talk about love and acceptance. It's time to learn and question. This is how we build a resilient society. This is Canada's goal and there is work to be done," he said.
The Prime Minister did not hesitate to play the game by jokingly asking if he was going to see RuPaul – who hosts the original show in the United States, "RuPaul's Drag Race" – eliciting laughter from the participants.
"For a world leader to be at the workshop to talk to us, it's incredible. You're a real queen Justin Trudeau, "responded drag queen Ra'Jah O'Hara.
