A historic day for parental rights in Canada
Wednesday, September 20, 2023 will remain a historic day for the parental rights movement in Canada.
The Million People for Children Walk was an unprecedented success, bringing together parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles, and people from diverse faith communities to share a single goal...
Protect all children from the dangers of LGBT indoctrination and gender ideology that have taken over our schools.
On this historic day, the cry of "Leave our children alone!" echoed across the nation, in parliament buildings, city halls and school board offices.
I want to congratulate — and deeply thank — the organizers of the Million Person March for Children, especially Kamel El-Cheikh, a Muslim father and Ottawa businessman who came up with the idea for the march. While we do not agree with all of the organizers' views, we recognize that we are indebted to them for organizing this extraordinary event.
Even though the National Coalition for Life (NVC) had a promotional role rather than an organizing role, many of our staff members found themselves on the front lines of this extraordinary March for Children (#1MillionMarch4Children) (this keyword has been popular over the past three days!).
OTTAWA
The main protest took place on Parliament Hill in the nation's capital
Debbie Duval, NVC organizer for the nation's capital, was at the heart of the action, shoulder to shoulder with the marchers. She relayed reports to our team throughout the morning and felt that the crowd size was overwhelming, "like nothing" she had ever seen before, saying that she could "barely move" and that there seemed to be "a gazillion of people" gathered in one place. Debbie even wondered if the crowd was bigger than it was during the Freedom Convoy.
Take a look at the photos Debbie took at the Ottawa Walk.
HAMILTON, ONTARIO
I was on the field outside of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, and you have to see one of the videos I took on the phone to get an idea of how many people showed up.
MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO
Our Vice President, Matthew Wojciechowski, and NVC's Director of Education and Advocacy, Josie Luetke, were our eyes and ears in Mississauga, Ontario. They were there very early and sent many photos of the demonstration for parental rights in front of the town hall.

KITCHENER, ONTARIO
Jack Fonseca, director of political operations for the National Coalition for Life, was in Kitchener, where he estimated that 2,000 to 3,000 pro-parental rights protesters, including children and their families, gathered at City Hall. About 300 LGBT activists counter-demonstrated, many of them masked to hide their identities. Jack posted an 11-part news feed on Twitter/X about the protest, with insightful commentary, photos and videos.
MEDICINE HAT, ALBERTA
CNV's constituency captain in Medicine Hat, accompanied by his wife and children, attended the Medicine Hat protest, where he reported that hundreds of pro-family protesters had gathered to demand the removal of the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) curriculum from their schools.
MONTREAL and QUEBEC
Staff members from our Quebec Life Campaign branch also participated in the Million People for Kids Walks in Montreal and Quebec City.

Independent media report the truth
Through social media, Canadians will not have to rely on traditional media for coverage of the Million Walk for Children, and you will be able to get an honest perspective on the extent of participation.
While dishonest media outlets like CTV were busy highlighting only LGBT and union counter-protesters, and their false portrayal of parents as "hateful" and "white supremacists," independent media outlets like Rebel News and True North reported from Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary, and Coquitlam.
One incident was even filmed, in which counter-protesters tried to provoke some parents.
Contrary to the lies and false claims of the media, the crowds were not "hateful" or fanatical", and you can see it for yourself in this video posted by True North, which was shared by Elon Musk himself!
Overall, it was a remarkable day for the parental rights movement in Canada. As a reminder, NVC helped set this parental uprising in motion – or at least spark it – by launching the first-ever National Pride Day Retirement Day in early summer. We reached out to parents across the country to encourage them to keep their children at home on June 1st, the day when most schools hold some sort of LGBT "pride" flag celebration. The response to this call to action has been phenomenal, with some school boards recording absenteeism rates ranging from 30% to 75%!
Leave our children alone!
Did a million people really turn out? Maybe, maybe not. It's hard to say, but the final figures have almost nothing to do with the question.
What is certain is that the Million Person March for Children was a moment of unification for the parental rights movement in this country, a moment that our elected officials will not be able to ignore, but...
Now it's time to build on this momentum, and we still have a lot of work to do.
Other protest actions by parents
1. For those of you who are close enough to attend, please consider attending the Education over Indoctrination gathering in Toronto on Friday, September 22nd, led by teenager Josh Alexander and Billboard Chris. It will take place in front of Victoria Park Collegiate Institute, located at 15 Wallingford Rd (click here for location) and Annunciation Catholic School (click here for location), starting at 11 a.m. (Eastern Daylight Time).
2. For those of you who have children or grandchildren on the Toronto District School Board or the Durham District School Board, please consider keeping your children home for the rest of the week. What for? CTV News reported that the TDSB and DDSB have decided to raise the LGBT Pride flag for the rest of the week, to show their contempt for parents and the Million Million March for Children (#1MillionMarch4Children).
These are great ways to keep the momentum going to restore our parental rights to education and send the message, "Leave our children alone!"
Keep the National Coalition for Life in your prayers, for our work is rooted in our faith in God and in the power of the Holy Spirit, especially for children and those who corrupt them, as we read in 1 Corinthians 8:12: "Now sinning thus against your brethren, and wounding their weak consciences, you sin against Christ. »
