EPPNE Responds to Committee Report: Concern Over Ideological Bias and Lack of Parental Rights

Montreal, May 30, 2025 -- After a significant delay, the final report from the committee of experts was released on May 30, 524 days after the committee was established. The report was originally expected in winter 2025.

The EPPNE Association (Children – Parents – Protection – Norms – Education) regrets the exclusion of several serious studies and expert analyses that supported the arguments presented in its written submission to the committee.

Disappointing Conclusions for Traditional Families

EPPNE expresses deep dissatisfaction with the report’s conclusions, especially the lack of meaningful support for traditional families, who represent the majority of households in Quebec. The association points to a clear ideological bias, favoring a transaffirmative approach at the expense of:
  • freedom of conscience and religion
  • parental authority
  • and core family values
All of which are protected by the Canadian and Quebec Charters of Rights.

EPPNE Calls on Citizens to Act

A formal position statement will be released later this week through EPPNE’s media network.

The association urges all citizens to read the report and contact their elected officials to share their concerns.
