as Easter saves us
LET US SAVE EASTER "
Christians of different faiths, Orthodox, Catholics, Protestants, Evangelicals unite to request the reopening
of their places of worship and churches in order to prepare for Easter 2021.
- Whereas Christians have been deprived of celebrating the most important feast of Christianity in 2020,
that had never been seen in the last two thousand years of history;
- Whereas our institutions did not result in COVID19 outbreaks and that we strictly observe the sanitary rules;
- Whereas the spiritual life and the values conveyed by our churches are certainly essential and help many citizens go through the current trials;
- Whereas several businesses remain open such as the SQDC and the SAQ and are certainly not always helpful resources for Quebecois;
- Whereas many countries such as France, England and several others in Europe and states in the United States have acknowledged that the freedom of worship is crucial and undeniable *;
We ask the Government of Quebec to allow the reopening of our churches as quickly as possible, according to a realistic gauge. For instance according to the building surface, per square meter as it is done in businesses considered essential and as decreed in France** and not in arbitrary numbers of 10, 25 or 50 that do not take into consideration the surface of the premises.
