Following the tragic crash of an Air India plane in Ahmedabad, which is believed to have killed over 200 people, Bishop Joseph D’Souza of the Good Shepherd Church of India has called on the nation to unite in prayer and compassion.
In a statement shared with Premier Christian News, Bishop D’Souza expressed deep sorrow over the sudden and tragic loss of life, which is feared to include many medical students and local residents caught in the crash zone.
“I can’t begin to imagine the pain and anguish the families and friends of the victims are experiencing. I grieve with them, and I pray that God will comfort them and bring them peace, in Jesus’ name.”
The aircraft reportedly crashed near a residential area, igniting fires and prompting a large-scale emergency response. Rescue services arrived at the scene early in the morning as the extent of the devastation became clear.
