Pope Leo XIV’s Brother Dismisses Rumors of a Radical Progressive Shift
In an interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored, Louis Provost, brother of the newly elected Pope Leo XIV (formerly Cardinal Robert Prevost, originally from the United States), refuted claims that his brother’s pontificate would mark a radically progressive turn for the Catholic Church.
“I don’t think he’s going to roll back the changes made by Pope Francis… but he will maintain them,” said Louis Provost.
Although he described him as “probably more liberal than I am,” he firmly rejected the idea that the new pope is “woke.”
“I wouldn’t even go that far to say he’s woke. That’s just his position as a priest in the Church, as a member of the clergy,” he explained.
When asked about sensitive issues, he acknowledged a possible openness to expanded advisory roles for women, while ruling out any major doctrinal changes regarding female ordination or same-sex marriage. In his words:
“In the Church’s eyes, homosexuality and [gay] marriage are not right, not correct.”
