Sex robots, a threat to the individual
and to society

American researchers denounce the commercialization of sex robots with artificial intelligence that pose a psychological and moral threat
to individuals and society.
They regret that this technology escapes all control and call for the establishment of regulations.A number of sex robots are sold on the Internet, such as the Harmony robot , which is sold for between 8,000 and 10,000 dollars. It is a life-size doll with artificial intelligence (AI) that " will remember things about you, what you like, what you don't like and your experiences ".

Kathleen Richardson, professor of ethics and culture of robots and AI at the University of Montfort in Leicester, wants this type of marketing to be banned, as advertisements claiming that companion robots can replace human relationships. “ A relationship is based on intimacy, attachment and reciprocity. These are things that cannot be reproduced by machines, ”she said. Above all,
these technologies perpetuate a conception of “ women as sexual objects ”.
