Does More Sex Education Reduce Sexually Transmitted Infections?

return

The imposition of more hours devoted to sex education to combat a surge in the number of cases of venereal disease has become an old saw.
It has been used since sex education classes
were introduced in the sixties without these infections decreasing ...

From the outset, clarify things: the question is not really whether "sex education classes have their place in school" (even under Duplessis Catholic prelates subscribed). It must also be emphasized that it is wrong to claim that these courses had never really disappeared in Quebec, they varied rather from one school to another, see below a screenshot of the site of the ministry in January 2017 that we reminded him.
The question is whether more sex education in the form proposed by the Monopoly of Education in Quebec (and more generally in progressive schools in the West) reduces infections related to sexuality. In other words, talk about prophylaxis while at the same time insisting on sexual freedom, on individual pleasure from an early age, in all its forms, with many partners,
Is not this contradictory or at least not effective?

To put the question in the words "for or against sex education" is to skew the debate. It is wanting to rally the common people to the position of "yes, of course" and to set the table in such terms as those who oppose
This sexuality education program is considered to be late olibrius.

Associations such as the Coalition for Sexuality Education claim that more sexuality education is needed to fight the upsurge of venereal diseases: "Sexually transmitted diseases are also on the rise.
Reported cases of chlamydia have doubled in the 15-24 age group since 2008. "

The idea that there is a connection between the end of the personal and social training courses (but not the end of the course on sexuality, let's remember it) and the increase in sexually transmitted infections is unfounded. Nothing proves that there is causality. On the one hand, there were still sexuality education courses (variables from one school to another) but, on the other hand, there was an upsurge of STIs in Western countries. in recent years without any change in sex education (United States, Sweden, Netherlands). See chart above on the rapid and sustained increase in cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis in the United States all states, it is not known that sex education courses were abolished.

Ontario has for many years already had a sex education course (a separate and non-transversally taught course) where students are taught about venereal diseases and how to protect themselves from them. Does this mean that Ontario has experienced a smaller increase in sexually transmitted infections than Quebec? The short answer is no. These infections are increasing across Canada, with a higher incidence of chlamydia and gonorrhea in some areas populated by many Native Americans and Inuit. And of course these infections always first affect young people in our societies with permissive and early sexuality. This is not a novelty or a recent "catastrophe".

Cases of sexually transmitted infections increase in homosexual environments (males). Who can claim that it is by "ignorance" of prophylactic means?

Similar increases in reportable sexually transmitted infection rates were observed in Australia,
England and the United States of countries with a wide variety of school and sex education programs.

Hedonic prevention campaigns such as the one in 2009 below do not seem to have any effect, which is not surprising.

Similarly, in Sweden, despite the very explicit sex education, there is a resurgence of venereal diseases.
