Why this petition is important

After the initial turmoil, the state of affairs.

Because, while one piece of information chases another, our observation remains and is established in the form of a question.
What place do we reserve for Christianity in the society of 2024?
At a time when tolerance is advocated to the point of injunction, when inclusiveness becomes exclusionary and when in the name of love of neighbor is demanded the slavish acceptance of a reversal of morals, what about the Christian?
Is it tolerated that he does not submit to any wind of ideology? That he excludes sin from his life? That he loves his neighbor, his children to the point of teaching them his moral values?

What have we Christians to judge those outside? Every man is free to live his life as he sees fit, there is no debate about this, God alone is the just judge.
But he who has the commandments of Christ and keeps them is the one who loves him.

Can the Christian of 2024 keep the commandments of Christ, can he be a Christian?

Original text:

Many believers in France and around the world were offended and hurt by the spectacle offered in front of everyone and in the name of the French nation on the occasion of the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Despite images of great beauty, several paintings, some of which are deliberately ambiguous and offensive, have not failed to make an impression and attract national and international attention.

The deliberate choice to publicly represent imagery in direct opposition to the faith of millions of Christian citizens to represent the values of France challenges us.

Moreover, this obvious lack of consideration for believers is posed beyond this ceremony, which is only the visible representation of a deep and intentional break with Christianity, an assumed position of the rejection of Christians themselves and of their freedom to believe and to express their faith.

With this open letter to the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, we, Christians of France, wish to take a stand and affirm our will to believe and express our faith freely.
