Soon a mental health platform for youth

return
Photo
(Toronto) A team of experts led by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is creating an online platform that they say will fill long-standing gaps in youth mental health care.

THE CANADIAN PRESSThe Centre, affiliated with the University of Toronto, says the new Canadian Youth Mental Health Platform will help youth mental health find services and professionals in their area.

This platform will also allow mental health professionals to record and collect important data that the Centre believes will be useful at scale.

Dr Sean Hill, who is leading the project, says the platform will allow healthcare professionals to track interventions
that are working and share this information nationally.

He points out that young people were involved in the project to ensure that the web portal meets their needs,
as well as those of clinicians and researchers.

The project, supported by a $5 million grant from the Canada Brain Research Fund, is expected to be implemented over the next three years.
