Bill C-6
How to make our voice heard for oppose the current version of the bill?
Good morning all,
Many have asked "how do we make our voice heard to oppose the current version of Bill C-6?" "And if it was possible to have more information. On the same idea, many of you have asked us
if there was a model letter to send to your federal deputy.
First of all, I invite you as disciples of Christ, but also as a Canadian citizen, to strongly intercede for this fight because we serve an almighty God although the challenge is great.

Here are 4 means of action proposed to make you hear:
1. Learn about and refer people to these Christian articles on the issue
freetocare.ca/what-can-we-do (Anglais)
2. Sign the petition
The "Fix the Definition" movement was initiated by Albert MP Garnett Genius. He is working with different groups to get the government to better define the concept of “conversion therapy” in Bill C-6.
3. Write a letter
Write a letter to your MP to object to the way Bill C-6 is currently written.
4. Call your MP
Find Members of Parliament - Members of Parliament - House of Commons of Canada (ourcommons.ca)
Phone your MP to object to the way Bill C-6 is currently written.
Write an email to your MP and ask to make an appointment for a phone or Zoom call of just 15 minutes to talk about upcoming legislation (don't say C-6 just yet). If we talk to Liberal or NDP members, we know that they already have an opinion opposite to ours.
Pray before you call.
Honor your MP, recognize that she plays a difficult role. Be grateful to her.
Seek to create a bridge: "We are not against C-6, even we are against forced therapy or forced conversion for anyone. We don't want people to be forced to suffer anything against them. willing "(to release the tension).
Share that you have a particular concern: "I am for the intent of the law, but something worries me. The definition is too ambiguous and leaves too many vague and broad interpretations that could affect many people negatively, even the LGBT community We support a ban on conversion therapy, but not this ban because it bans much more than just "conversion therapy."
Be direct, let them know that you are asking them to vote NO on 3rd reading so that the definition is altered and changed. Share what you specifically ask: "I want to propose an adjustment: that the word" forcefully "be moved from the marginal notes and placed in the definition itself. This note has no legal influence in application. We request that" forced "be added to the definition as" forcefully "."
You can redirect your MP to https://www.freetocare.ca/
Thank him for his time.
If you care, ask him if you can pray for him (not for God to change him,
but so that God bless him, do him good).
Notes:
We believe it is good to ban torture! But we believe that good counseling that the person is looking for should not be banished. Forcing someone to change another person's sexual orientation is not the same as someone who wants to seek help
to change their behavior on their own.
This is a complaint-ban, anyone can complain
You can talk to the MP for your church constituency as well if it is in a different constituency than yours. You can also get together as a group to request a Zoom meeting with our MP.
Don't expect it to be easy. Sometimes you have to contact 3 times.
