Family-work balance: financial assistance
to promote a better quality
of life for families in Quebec
The Québec government has just announced financial assistance of $ 900,000 to encourage employers to find better ways to support work-family balance and to encourage parents to take advantage of these measures available to them.
To promote the quality of life for families, the Government of Quebec has announced financial support for the Concilivi Program , implemented by the Réseau pour un Québec Famille (RPQF) . This new program, aimed at employers, aims to recognize the quality of their organizational practices in terms of family-work balance and to promote them by displaying a distinctive seal. To do this, the Ministère de la Famille will pay the RPQF a maximum grant of $ 600,000, spread over four years.
In addition, financial assistance of $ 300,000 is granted to the Quebec Federation of Community Community Organizations (FQOCF) as part of its ConciliACTION project, which will be carried out over a two-year period. This project aims to reach parents and equip them to benefit more from the family-work-study balance measures offered by their employer or their educational institution.
Family-work balance was already, before the crisis, a major source of stress for 70% of parents of children aged 0-5 years , according to a Léger survey commissioned in February 2020 by the Réseau pour un Québec Famille. According to this survey, 48% of working parents would accept a drop in wages in exchange for better work-family balance measures, which represents an increase of 11 points in just 2 years. In addition, for parents of 2 or more children, work-family balance is the first criterion for choosing a job.
