An organization is courting Ottawa for its transgender dolls
Transgender Children Canada is looking for government money to talk about trans youth.
The organization behind the "SAM" doll , which is apparently the "world's first transgender educational toy", is currently seeking funding from the federal government. At least that can be concluded by consulting the website of the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying of Canada.Named "Transgender Children Canada", the organization is represented by a project manager, Antoine Beaudoin Gentes. According to the public registry, the registration was conducted on May 19 for the following purposes: "The goal is to secure an (indeterminate) investment from [the government] to develop a national transgender awareness initiative. and non-binaries with Sam dolls in all schools across Canada. "
Recall that a few months ago, the Cégep Regional Lanaudière had dolls "SAM" for its students enrolled in Special Education Techniques programs in Joliette, Techniques of Education for Children at L'Assomption, and Techniques social work in Terrebonne. "Transgender identity is a reality to which students in targeted programs must be particularly sensitive," said Marcel Côté, Executive Director of Cégep régional de Lanaudière.
Taking the form of Russian dolls, "SAM" is actually an assortment of figurines that fit into each other. These figures all represent the same individual, although they express their "gender" in a "different" way.
The lg2 agency produced the doll for "Transgender Children Canada". According to the CEO of lg2, Marie-Luce Ouellet, 200 of the 500 dolls produced have so far been distributed in Canadian schools.
